tanka and micropoetry by gennepher

***

he escaped
through
lies
one rung on the ladder
missing

***

the locket
on a chain
round her neck
her dead son
always staring at you

***

the stories
that
got lost
in
the telling

***

on
the far side
of parting
the accompanying
loneliness

***

kettle boiling
window
steamed up
the world outside
could be anything

***

***

the secret
she
did not know
was always
around her

***

it was on her mind
as she awoke
but she lost it
another poem
bites the dust

***

stretching
out her hand
that dark night
she reached
the stars

***

***

freedom
from
one's
own
self

***

she
had
a problematical relationship
with
spelling

***

the necklace
faceted
deep green emeralds
her pale
white skin

***

caught
in his
blindness
he
did not see

***

the face
half
hidden
photograph
torn

***

***

there
would be
no one
to
know

***

she
always
remembered
with different eyes
she realised the truth

***

memories
casting
their
golden
rays

***

***

the
past
holds secrets
every now and then
it lets go of one

***

the voice
seductive
inside the head
yet
so far away

***

***

the
bird
escaped
the
photograph

***

a long time ago
a house
all white
I wandered
from room to room

***

to
wipe
the slate clean
he inhabited
a different world

***

***

your
mixed up
bag
of
character traits

***

the tab key
taking her
to the next box
if only she could search
through her mind in this way

***

she looked
at the delete key
on the keyboard
and wondered
if she could delete herself

***

  1. You have some very nice gogyohka here. I can relate to a lot of it. Your picture-poems are beautiful too.
