haiku, tanka and poetry by gennepher

***

even death
does not release
promises made

***

black raven
cawing
prayers

***

they called him shiftless
but
he was merely shifted

***

a black tear
falling from the sky
raven

***

old road ends
untrodden path begins
the fool leaps

***

with every stitch
she carefully placed
a thought
finally
the hand made doll was ready

***

time
got the better
of her
she always
arrived late

***

words
holding you
insect snared in spider's web

***

mist separating her
from herself
sometimes it cleared

***

the telegram came
vitriol and poison
seared in every word

***

the children
two leaves dancing
caught in the breeze

***

bereft
lost
searching

***

one by one
they faded away
she was heartbroken

***

interconnecting links
broken
one by one

***

from the beginning
death
arose

***

lying in the snow
weeping
black rose

***

soul less windows
buildings gazed
unseeingly

***

transitory wanderer
homeless
between worlds

***

echoing silently
the whisper
died

***

holding hands
they kept the shadows
from each other

***

utterly still
single crow
on a blackened tree

***

the shadow
gone for awhile
waited to come back

***

cradling
diamond bright stars
tree  branches

***

beautiful flower
seldom lifted her petals
thought she was ugly

***

she wondered
where
does thought end?

***

flying as one
wing tip to wing tip
two ravens

***

stories
getting lost
in the telling

***

on the far side  of parting
loneliness
accompanies

***

dark  mantle of night
threadbare
pinholes of light

***

writing
in the sky
untidy flock of starlings

***

  1. Haven't read much poetry lately but these were a delight. All were good but some that stuck out were transitory wanderer, two ravens and the children.
