haiku, tanka and micropoetry by gennepher

***

dreaming late at night
wandering rooms of my mind
so much needs repairing

***

midnight travel
noise of her silence
the moon

***

in the speak of words
a resonating
of spiritual eternity

***

from the lonely lighthouse
of her mind
a beacon searches

***

making wishes upon stars
here I am
looking out of the window

***

stars dancing in the sky
a symphony of shades of white
full moon rises

***

night's raven wings enfolded
breezes of the mountain
the moon's fullness

***

silent moonshadow
above the mountain
I watch your name

***

stars gather
moon rises high
standing still I wait

***

lighting my path
the moon
shows me the way home

***

face of the moon
looking in my window
I turn over in my sleep

***

stars of my soul
light the milky way
I see you in my dreams

***

I sit on my swing
with my blanket and thermos
waiting for stars
my dog barks
I look up

***

the sound of frogs
hibernating
frosty stars

***

lapping water in the frog pond
the cat
sips stars

***

standing on the seashore
I look up at the inky sky
only the moon

***

on the island
a ceiling of stars
I pull my blanket up tighter

***

in the water barrel
captive
moon and stars

***

winter winds blowing hard
tree branches stretching further and further
catch a falling star

***

a falling star
the child
looked everywhere
she stares in wonder
in the water barrel

***

stars
softly singing
their songs of childhood

***

guiding you
though dark liquid night
a solitary star

***

I watch the moon
stealthily peek
in every window in my bungalow
when I peer out
she ducks below the horizon

***

the child watched
the moon get up
and sometimes
the moon
never went back to bed

***

shivering
in the icy blue night
stars

***

swirling through the sky
night wind
scattering stars

***

webs of shadows
softly spun
I wander through empty rooms

***

outside in the frost
scatterings
of tiny perfect stars

***

fragile scents of flowers
secrets
for you and I

***

daughter of the sea
your salty tears are done
and skin turns to parchment dry
seven years seven long past
time for your return

***

first star of evening
my upturned face
a bat veers past

***

the child
dug holes in the sand
empty holes
she watched while they filled
to the brim with sea

The Sea...haiku, tanka, micropoetry and poetry by gennepher

Words from an ancient ocean filled with memory

***

***

sitting on the sea bed
she clutched a sea shell
hard rippled sand
***

a child of nowhere
her heart left beneath the sea
foam on the seashore

***

her salty goodbyes
the girl with the sea-green eyes
dark hair flowing in the wind

***

necklace of shells
kept her memories
from floating away

***

cascading between the waves
the song
of the sea

***

***

echoes rippling out
one day you will return home
daughter of the sea

***

I don't know you yet
you loved me so much
I dance barefoot on the wet sands

***

the sea will lift me
all these years
a mermaid's song

***

silently she weeps
beneath the sea
mermaid's tears of sorrow

***

***

whispering in her dreams
the unborn music of her soul
she swam in its deeper depths

***

salty silences
of the sea
lyrics of sunken secrets

***

***

standing by water's edge
breeze rippling her cloak
she gazed out to sea

***

along the shore
sea shells whispered
she listened

***

***

mistiness of dawn
across aeons of time
the morning we met

***

sea-green mistiness
dreaming imagined islands
the reality of you

***

in a turbulent sea of blue
words flowing
a fountain pen

***

blowing out to sea
on tips of waves
your words
I stand and watch
foam tickles my feet

***

words floating
in the ethereal ocean of love
calligraphic script
***

I look into the rock pool
your reflection smiled back at me
ghosts of my heart

***

an oceanic telling
her silken soul
adrift

***

written in the sand
her whispered name long ago
the sea stole it back

***

unearthly melody
sea shells dreaming
far deeper within

***

lonely depths
sea-green veils
momentarily embracing

***

her eyes shimmering
an oceanic world
of sea-green blue

***

from over the sea
mists
rolling in
on the island
just you and me

***

***

on the seashore
we watched skies of inky darkness
and dustings of starlight
waves lapped
over our feet

***

footsteps
yours and mine
washed away by the tide
***

dawn's sea mists
shape shifting
into thoughts of you

***

that blue moonlit night
bright
as day
I remember our walk
along the water's edge

***

at dawn I see you
white horses foaming
where sea meets the shore

***

your footsteps in the sand
winter sea
stole them away
a salty tear
rolls down my cheek

***

pale pink moon
floating
at sunset
boat of eternity
on the misted horizon

***

indigo watercolour painting
she scattered sea salt
whilst wet
snowflake tears
of deep sorrow
***

silently the illusion
sea faring mists
faded the island

***

along the sand
your diminishing footsteps
nothing remains

***

inky black sea
full moon's reflection
unfathomable depths

***

sorrow
deep sea-green
her eyes

***

saltiness lingers
a long way from home
seashells in a glass bowl

***

around her neck
a bone carving
of a sea horse

***

***

slowly her mind sank
to that sea bed long ago
water's inner peace

***

floating
in the illusion of water
meditation

***

there are no words for me
just dawn sea mists
where the island meets the sea

***

a cream silk wedding dress
barefoot on the sand
I dance for your unseeing eyes

***

she finished the painting
took off her shoes and stepped in
sea foam tickled her toes

***

***

arching towards the sky
frisky foam along water's edge
a white stallion rears

***

gossamer horse
racing the seashore
night shimmers

***

***

seashells
singing
songs of forgetfulness
she wandered alone
barefoot on the sand

***

white waves
wind whips the foam and touches her back
she turns and sees nothing

***

no one there
just a wave
coming and leaving

***

***

in a sea
of nothing
she floated

***

haiku, tanka and micropoetry by gennepher

***

opening the book
the red poppy lifted itself from white paper
red petals cascading out

***

the page empty
a jumble of letters
in a heap at the bottom of the page
thought
scribbles

***

the faded diary fell open
old fashioned cursive writing
came alive
carried on
writing...

***

softly and gently
unseen on the yellowed pages
came the song

***

there were no choices except sideways
the paper unfolded
and refolded again

***

in a brown wooden box
the parting gift he gave her
an origami sea shell

***

origami stars in glass bowl
caught from a night of wonder
indigo night sky

***

doorway into the painting opened
a room of canvas
within canvas
echoes
of paint

***

from the spine of the book
copperplate writing spilled out
and wrote on the walls
ledgers
of the past

***

whispering
in libraries of the mind
unborn words
waiting
to be written

***

morning star sings her prayer
from the songsheet of fading stars
dawn's gentle hour

***

sunset
blazing
her last few moments
a crystal dances around the walls
the intensest of blue-greens

***

the blank white page
of innocence
now grubby on the corners
thoughts lingering for so long
after the event

***

amidst a river of calligraphy
a roaring waterfall
the page blank

***

she sung her lullaby
but
no-one heard it
for the music
was never written

***

the sketch book
turned its own pages
swiftly
flowing
watercolour brushstrokes

***

the bookcase empty
except for old photograph
used as a bookmark
a black and white
irish castle in the mists

***

brown luggage label
a bookmark
poignant memory

micropoetry and haiku by gennepher

***

the skull watched and waited

***

death waited, he shook his head

***

sitting in the same room like bookends,
no book worth reading between them

***

the seeds of doubt sown

***

the names changed, they whispered back

***

trembling into ocean’s depths, spangled stars

***

full moon, white bindweed stars

***

he grunted in that way of his
pretending
he had never been asleep in the first place

***

veils of dreams, each covering the other

***

the church roof, fish scales by moonlight

***

from the top of the abandoned air raid shelter
the child picked dandelions

***

the story went round and round in her mind
until
it became the backdrop of her thoughts

***

lost in a place between places

***

when age confused him, his tongue meandered

***

there is no ending,  just forever

***

the music long forgotten began to play, just a whisper

***

her imagination, it kept her sane

***

all the stories were carried inside of her

***

tears kept wanting to leak out of her eyes
one day the child realised
this was sadness

***

their names were part of the music

***

a unique tapestry, potpourri of ideas

***

out of a forked tree branch, the moon catapults slowly

***

memories corked in the bottle, but the scent was too strong

***

stars in the night sky, clustered daisies on the lawn

***

she was about to say something
but then it went back
to that place of unsaid words

***

there was a place
in between places
it was there she found her mind

***

she’d hidden the words,
not wanting anyone else to read them

***

a piece of paper tossed to and fro by the wind,
origami seagull  falls to the ground

***

a flower picked, an untimely fading

***

the nearer I come to understanding myself,
the further away I get

***

among the wartime graves the child ran
her arms outstretched
as free as a bird

***

it never really lets you go, the past

***

I  gaze out to sea, seeing what I can not

***

for just a moment it entered her heart
then she tied it up with a ribbon
and put it away

***

the writing is in the flowers
soft lemony flowers
a note

***

no one cared only the tree who wept silently

***

she escaped time and time again, but she always escaped

***

softly and gently
unseen
comes the song

***

the washing blew off the line
found its wings
and flew gracefully away

***

inky midnight skies
her cloak of ethereal stars
moon sweeps 'cross the sky

***

the sense of loss as magic disappeared, retreating deep within the woods...

***

along the sand
your diminishing footsteps
nothing remains

***

it was only life she had to live for

haiku and micropoetry by gennepher

***

the hour before dawn
a still point
in a turning world

***

library reading rooms
empty at night
enchanted forest

***

the child
lived to the tick
of a different clock

***

old
sepia photograph
drained of life

***

ivy cloaked statues
waiting
patiently

***

your foot steps and mine
just my footprints in the sand
your warmth besides me

***

so many names, so many layers

***

whispering her name, the wind

***

she lived
as a ghost
nothing connected

***

heard within poetry, silence

***

she saw
with different eyes
remembered

***

in her cloak of blue
she melted
into the bluebell woods

***

globe
of the world
a pencil sharpener inside

***

tree  branches
holding stars
up in the sky

***

haloes
in the mists
street lamps

***

the spitfire
dusty in the museum
yet echoes remained

***

night sky
dark blue velvet
quilted with glittering stars

***

intrusive moon
all night
peaks through the curtains

***

where does thought end, she  wondered

haiku, tanka and poetry by gennepher

***

even death
does not release
promises made

***

black raven
cawing
prayers

***

they called him shiftless
but
he was merely shifted

***

a black tear
falling from the sky
raven

***

old road ends
untrodden path begins
the fool leaps

***

with every stitch
she carefully placed
a thought
finally
the hand made doll was ready

***

time
got the better
of her
she always
arrived late

***

words
holding you
insect snared in spider's web

***

mist separating her
from herself
sometimes it cleared

***

the telegram came
vitriol and poison
seared in every word

***

the children
two leaves dancing
caught in the breeze

***

bereft
lost
searching

***

one by one
they faded away
she was heartbroken

***

interconnecting links
broken
one by one

***

from the beginning
death
arose

***

lying in the snow
weeping
black rose

***

soul less windows
buildings gazed
unseeingly

***

transitory wanderer
homeless
between worlds

***

echoing silently
the whisper
died

***

holding hands
they kept the shadows
from each other

***

utterly still
single crow
on a blackened tree

***

the shadow
gone for awhile
waited to come back

***

cradling
diamond bright stars
tree  branches

***

beautiful flower
seldom lifted her petals
thought she was ugly

***

she wondered
where
does thought end?

***

flying as one
wing tip to wing tip
two ravens

***

stories
getting lost
in the telling

***

on the far side  of parting
loneliness
accompanies

***

dark  mantle of night
threadbare
pinholes of light

***

writing
in the sky
untidy flock of starlings

***
