2010-08-25 gogyohka

The postcards you see here are some I found. They are from the second world war from a young lady to her sergeant in the army, and also from him to her. They make sweet reading.

***

beyond
her
understanding
but she carried on
writing

***

the willow
you gave me
perpetually painting
your
skies

***

the ocean
knew
all her hopes, thoughts, and fears
was waiting
to comfort her

***

***

her
fingers
touched the water
the image
blurred

***

some trick
of the light
made me see you there
cushion
on the chair

***

what inspires
gives hope
your constant companion
for
your soul's journey

***

he
sits
silently
listening
to your thoughts

***

***

lies and truth
truth dies
lies  live
so
wars can be won

***

her heart
locked away
a long time ago
one person found the key
but then he had to leave

***

spirit
all
around
whispering
in the gentle wind

***

sitting
in
the willow bower
swinging my legs
to and fro

***

***

a parting
in
the road
I wonder
where are you now?

***

the setting sun
writing
poems in the sky
as I
write this

***

willow
gently brushing
my book
turns over
the page

***

she watched
the number plates
as the cars drove past
each one
had a message for her

***

it was
an
unreal world
there were
no boundaries

***

***

the wind sang softly
so as not
to disturb her sleep
and whispered
her precious messages

***

the raindrops
on dry dusty concrete
drawing a pattern
or maybe
a message

***

each
word
has
its own
beauty

***

***

her eyes
blurred with tears
reading the letter
a gentle wind came along
blew them all away

***

the
unseen hands
waiting
to put you
back on your feet

***

heaven's
embroidered covers
slowly floating down
gently
comforting

***

unexpectedly
from the sea mist
his familiar gait
came
walking towards her

***

strangeness
of
words
in their
charmed space

***

***

when
he
came home
he brought himself
with him

***

she pined
for memories
changed irrevocably
by
passage of time

***

much
she did not know
beyond her understanding
but
she did know his love

***

***

"someone..."
the voice called
in the echo
then
it tailed off

***

she
sang
the sky
intriguing
music

***

the sky
silently
veiling
the
troubled land

***

***

leafing
through sheet music
I look for one
that plays
to my heart

***

looking at photos
of people from the past
I shut my eyes
then
open them quickly hoping to catch them by surprise

***

your touch
so
gentle
the moment
goes on

***

heavenly angels
watch over him
keep him safe
guide him
home again

***

lovers of
the past
sitting in willow bower
full moon
smiles

***

until
we
meet again
I’ll carry
your heart in mine

***

***

full moon
gossamer scarf
round her neck
trailing
into the night sky

***

they
passed
in the dark night
neither knowing
the meeting that should have been

***

willow branches
painted all the stars
in the night sky
but
was too tired to paint the moon

***

the cemetery
is quiet
too quiet
for the occupants
down below…

***

***

it
was there
in the corner of the attic
the
shadow

***

the wind
on
the mountain
blew
the sun into darkness

***

the shadow
in
the doorway
watches
the footfalls

***

the moon
lay on her back
relaxing
on soft green feather bed leaves
of scented mimosa

***

***

she stood
on
the edge of darkness
stepped out
into the stars beyond

***

they both ran
barefoot
round the standing stones
a farmer with shotgun
eyed us suspiciously

***

starlings
sitting on the phone line
chattering
drowning out
the human speech within the line

***

the wind/blew the letters
off the book page she was reading
the trees caught them
and wrote
new meanings in the sky

***

the stones
in
the road
a casting
of runestones

***

dry river bed
waits
for thunderstorm
flesh coloured stones
sorted by size

***

at
the close
of a dull, rainy day
the sun
shines briefly

***

the sky filled with ravens
suddenly
they were gone
soft raven feathers fell
covering the ground in black snow

***

opening
in
ancient hedge
an overgrown trail
with hawthorns either side..

***

a shower
of rain
cats hopping
all over the garden
chasing after the frogs

***

from
beyond the grave
she left a message
written in the daisies
scrawled across the grass

***

what was
on the other side
of the rain?
the child stepped through
to find out...

***

fragments
of fear
fitting together bit by bit
an enormous
jigsaw puzzle

***

***

the story
still
waiting
to
be written

***

stained glass windows
brighter
than reality
dazzling
when the sun shines through

***

your touch so gentle
smiles and love
and contentment
the moment
goes on

***

losing happiness
he was bitter
and twisted
no-one else
was allowed to be happy

***

***

the
petrified
forest
dark castles
loom

***

child
shut
her eyes
and saw the pictures
deep within

***

the child
wandered
for hours on the beach
the sea
watched out for her

***

***

curling wisps
of white
leaving for the light
the body
a shell

***

clouds
of
eternity
whispering
your dreams

***

be
aware
of
now
spontaneity

***

so
whether
I
missed
something?

***

university
of
books
now
university of internet

***

no colours
no forms
the mind
now
blank

***

ethereal
and
dreamlike
she swam back
to source

***

***

a path
between two people
they never met
but
the path remained

***

everything
speaks
everything listens
can you hear them?
do you listen?

***

the shadows
closed in on them
until
all
was dark

***

as she
stepped
into the dream
the door
slammed shut

***

***

she
opened doors
in her mind
that she had not visited
for years

***

 the tongue
 stuck out
 of the letterbox
 eagerly
 waiting for letters

***

the puppet
hanging
on the wall
lifted his head
and watched

***

the pathways
on the other side
of the mirrors
leading everywhere
and nowhere

***

staring
back
at you
a face
in the mirror

***

they looked
at the child
that was so different to them
and changed themselves
to be with her

 ***

"don’t shake him awake"
he whispered
to her
"his nightmares will spill out
into the world

***

***

her

dreams
more familiar to her
than
real life

***

she

knew
all the past history
when
she entered her dreams

***

with

lengthening shadows
the shimmering ghost of night
folds her arms
around the world

***

dancing

around the full moon
intense white orbs
of
street lamps

***

dark pool of water

wind rippling
moon's reflection
unfathomable
depths

***

shadows of leaves

fingered
the walls
but
there were no trees outside

***

***

the

shadowy
dreams
they
gathered

***

the curtains

opened
to the night sky
the black window
reflected the room back on

***

clouds

of silver stars
fell
from the sky
as she watched

***

***

tragic

surprises
silences
in
the darkness

***

ivory moons

unfathomably
alive
innocuous
fairytale

***

waving willow branches

painted all the stars
in the night sky
but was too tired
to paint the moon

***

delicate gossamer fairies

dancing
round the full moon
enchanted
night

***

***

there

is
no sanity
nightmare and reality
are one

***

in the hillside

of old lichen encrusted trees
a door revealed itself
it led to
Wishing Gate House

***

a

sea
of
foxgloves
all colours
of the rainbow

***

in
winter
the bare tree branches
handwriting
in the sky

***

his ragged hair

a black waterfall
as he stood
on
the windswept moors

***

courtesy

of squirrel
I have loads more oak trees
bearing
more acorns

***

little by little

weed by weed
bursting through concrete jungle
earth
reclaims herself

***

sunset

painted
glorious red sky
the next day
hope and promise

***

sunrise

painted
angry red sky
all day
rain and squalls

***

***

horses
gaily prancing round
on the carousel
silhouetted
against vivid orange sunset sky

***

the green places

of my child hood
gone
now scarred
with roads and industry

***

***

the

haunted
bridge
her death
playing over and over again

***

running

down
the cliff face
rivers
of moss

***

the

stones
witnessed
they alone
remembered

***

wisps of grey hair

drifting
round his head
swirling
sea mists

***

***

daughter of the sea

they claimed you
but lent you back on borrowed time
it
will soon be time

***

the

waterfall
parted
revealing
a door

***

dawn breaks

threaded on spider webs
beads
of
pendulous dew drops

***

***

she

climbed
the stairs
found a door
that had not been there before

***

the

feline eyes
looked up
the
sweet tabby face

***

the

different
voices
some on the surface
some buried deep

***

she

sat down
completely alone
suddenly
a whisper

***

the

unicorn
looks in
through
human eyes

***

the man on the stage

his shadow
on the red velvet curtain
running
the other way

***

life

so fragile
hanging on a thread
that
might break any minute

***

***

I am here

and
yet I am not
I am separate
yet I blend into everything

***

a customer

in the chemist
wearing psychedelic clothes
asks
for migraine tablets

***

in the attic

of her childhood
she found the old mirror
looked into it again
then she put it away

***

***

so intense

so real
yet it goes away fading
only
leaves a trace

***

the inner world is real

outer world
an illusion
where is
the truth?

***

I followed your footsteps

the rain
washed them away
I find
my own path

***

angel

in disguise
I did not recognise you
I
know you now

***

***

entered
the
grounds
of
burrowed minds

***

thundering noise of the trains

inside her mind
shook her head
as
they went by

***

death

stared me in the face
with her hollow dark sunken eye
I spoke to her, cheered her up
she went skipping away

***

looking

at the person
I wonder
the
personality

***

I belong

nowhere
I am
wherever
I am

***

I

search
for traces
there
are traces everywhere

***

***

she

walked
into a room
that
did not belong there

***

the many mirrors

in the hallway
reflecting
different views
from different eras of time

***

fished

a coin out of his pocket
tossed it in the air
child caught it
a golden sovereign

***

the orange goldfish

swam
round and round
its bowl
all day long

***

child always wondered

what
was the point of a fish knife
many years later
she is still of same opinion

***

the

orange patterned paper
waiting
to be folded
to an origami bird

***

the water inside

floating within
now
the water is outside
floating without

***

***

she

looked
into the pool
his reflection
smiled back at her

2010-08-02 gogyohka

***

the soul
more expansive
than the universe
deeper
than any ocean

***

dragon scales
shimmering
on sea surface
intense green and black
jewels of the sea

***

pebbly beach
fishing boats hauled up
the nets drying
we
swam

***

***

walking along the beach
she turned
she had no footprints
tiny grains of sand
filled in her tracks as she walked

***

shells
lying
underwater
perfect
unicorn horns

***

wild white world
surreal song
forms
floating
over water

***

***

lying on the beach
with her golden curls
blue eyes and coral lips
a mermaid
figurehead

***

her sea-green eyes
leading to
a secret place
deep inside
of herself

***

two clouds
racing
'cross the sky
each
with three little dots behind

***

standing in ruins
the old farmhouse
on the hill
all that remains is
that wee little house over the stream

***

***

hoverfly
looks into
my eyes
into
the depths of my soul

***

painting
away
sorrow
the
willow

***

like
autumn
today
gold and brown leaves
skipping joyfully everywhere

***

swirls
of autumn leaves
dancing
autumn
preceding summer

***

rolling
undulating
moorland
sheep
sheltering

***

***

low dark clouds
meet
moorland's misty horizon
uncertainty
no ending no beginning

***

red
pillar
box
on a
dull cloudy day

***

***
dark
brooding
moors
bleak
windswept

***

soft
yellow cactus flowers
blooms
amongst
the spikes

***

sparrow's ballet
inner abandon
whirling
their
unreal moment

***

 ***

the
willow
brushed away
the
clouds

***

the stones
told
poems
of
all they'd seen

***

red poppies
falling
out of heaven
shimmering
to earth

***

her cloak of blue
blended her
into the skies
just a shimmer
to be seen

***

***

leaning
against
the tree
he strums
his guitar

***

the
raindrops
dancing
on
the table

***

***

a
leaf
trembling
on
a tree

***

lichen covered
corner stone
still standing
the rest of the building
long gone

***

the
sun
shone
sea green
faerie lands

***

flower
close up
vivid deep red petals
the last
open space

***

raven
feathers
streaming
in
the wind

***

the
leaves
spun
round and round
faces in the wind

***

sun
shone
brightly
crystal rainbows
danced

***

everywhere
dripping
wet
counting
drops of rain

***

sunset's tresses
adorning
the evening sky
entrancing
sapphire stars

***

twilight's scents
whispering
memories
in
the gentle breeze

***

nightingale
in gilded cage
sings sweetly all night long
a
clockwork toy

***

secret breath
almost from him
circled the night
liquid velvet shadow
in the dark universe

***

lingering
through
the night
those soft voices
secret stars

***

forgotten writing
belonging
to long ago dreams
sings without love
always dark

***

the moon's
child
wondering
her desires
liquid silver

***

nightingale's
promises
singing
disquietly
evermore

***

labyrinth
of trembling
dark secrets
murmuring
surprises

***

deeper in the darkness
the thinker
imagines
veiled
surprises

***

disappearing
dreamer
weeping
her
thoughts

***

crystal
cathedrals
eternally shining
in
the stars

***

 ***

veiled thoughts
falling
from the sky
darker
doubts

***

moon's
ivory
painting
floating
in the water

***

***

shimmering mirage
an
evaporating dream
there's
nothing substantial

***

painting
of
night time sky
sea salt sprinkled
on liquid indigo blue

***

weeping
dreamer
murmuring
secret
surprises

***

tossing and turning all night
finally
I fall asleep
then
dog kicks me in the back...

***

in the bedroom
the
charmed lamp
guiding
through dreams

***

pearlescent
stars'
alchemy
mirroring
the deep ocean

***

the
candles
that night
outshone
the day

***

the
window
looked out
to
a starlit sky

***

as
she
lay asleep
the words
floated through her head

***

***

with wonder
on
her face
she
smiled softly

***

saw a road sign today
leading to
a "Memory Fair"
could I have gone
and got a new memory?

***

 ***

half way to somewhere
not here
yet not there
just
half way to somewhere

***

dog kicks out
in
her sleep
ouch
my stomach

***

rich
deep purple
satin
luxurious
folds

***

I
am
lost
in a
furrowed world

***

 ***

shadows
of
the trees
their fingers dancing
on the walls

***

her
first name
was right
not the later one
she was given

***

his soul
could light the spaces
missing
in
my name

***

theatre of death
breathed
empty life
splintered
fragments

***

there is
no past
future or present
only
an eternal now

***

count time
not
by seconds, minutes, hours
but
by experiencing moments

***

my reflection
in the mirror
she stares back at me
then she turns
and walks away

***

the story has already happened
past, present, and future
are all but one moment
spread
for eternity

***

restless piano
playing
unfathomably
deep
fantasies

***

the
wordless
mirror
reflecting
great depths

***

her
insanity
reborn
bottomless
confusion

***

celluloid
film pieces
cut out
white bits
in their place

***

the clock
squeezing out
mythical time
through
its time frame

***

***

a
secret
life
within
a secret life

***

weave
imagination
our loom
for
writing

***

***

her
grief
insubstantial
her thoughts
chimerical

***

crackling
intense
fire
behind
chain link fencing

***

perfect
half bowls
of burning flame
the temple
half lit

***

at
the end of the corridor
a golden light
the piper
playing

***

tidying table
I came across my car tax disc
oops
it should've been put in car
two weeks ago

***

she
opened
the book
but
the pages were missing ...

***

within
ourselves
the
vast
unknown

***

transparent ship
near
yet far
no one notices
the watcher

***

happiness
not dependent
on the prize
but wisely understanding
peace and contentment of now

***

unkind
and
ungrateful words
soon
forgotten

***

***

immense
secret
emptiness
bathed
solitude

***

a
spider
walking
on
pointy toes

***

***

walking along
labyrinth
corridors
somehow finding
a new compass point...

***

walking
along the path
dandelion clock
towering
above me

***

her
neighbour's
behaviour
bordered
on the psychotic

***

***

it was bewitching hour
they awoke
played quarrelled and fought
the clock struck one
before they returned back

***

she
opened
the door
looked straight into
his psychotic eyes

***

her
necklace
hung heavy
of
broken promises

***

the
stone figure
spoke up
then
was silent again

***

***

only
when you know
the rules
can you break them
competently

***

he walks
by your side
in grief and sorrow
the
companion

***

gossamer gowns
the
fairy ball
the
flowers' enchantment

***

the peacock
spread out and fluttered his tail feathers
then was still once more
faded tapestry
on the fire screen

***
