tanka and micropoetry by gennepher

***

in the drawer
she put love
fragranced
english
lavender

***

memory
a child
of piano keys
the room
in faded darkness

***

trains
echoing away
at sunset
the end of the line
night closes the door

***

the blind child
learnt the sun
her smiling face
following its path
wild flowers swaying in the meadow

***

what was it I dreamt...
you opened
the door
I stepped into the light
of your darkness

***

whispering to me
sea and sand
salty dreams
a seashell
in the goldfish bowl

***

singing
mournful songs
deep waters green
following tides
their blue of you

***

each breath
the blue sky
your freedom
among all the skies
you painted

***

when I stop the car
the dog looks expectantly
out of the window
eyes searching constantly
these last five years

***

her cloak
shimmers
unseen
she walks
among the crowd

***

under the hawthorn
the stream
unfolded
a still dark
blue pool

***

flowing
through
archways of dreams
she entered
the dimly lit tunnel every night

***

all night
I wander
these caves
red sandstone walls
dreaming

***

millpond
so still and quiet
soft dawn mists
a kingfisher blue
darts past

***

looking down
into the still pool
transparent gauze of my soul
the ripples
over my head

***

dusty window
curtains tied back
with cords
I pass through
to greyed mists beyond

***

no more
than
the skin of my dreams
these gauzed
net curtains

***

her eyes
closed and deep
wrinkled
blankets
of night

***

the dog's ears prick up
looks round bewildered
her face puzzled
follows something
I cannot see

***

winter sun
reaches only
on the tree tops
fat tabby cat on a slender branch
sunning herself

***

shimmering
pale green mists
entrance to fairy land
nothing there
only a roundabout of modern cars

***

across the face
of the full moon
two geese
silhouetted
in black calligraphy

***

in blue seas of night
moon opens up the clouds
a moonbeam
the road
to fairyland

***

from pavements
and roofs
a shimmer of mists
golden light reveals
sun's alchemy of souls

***

row upon row
every one the same
houses in suburbia
different scenes
through every lit window

***

upheavals
constant change
never healing
metamorphosis
a different name

***

stardust
her playmates dancing
in silver edged clouds
a crescent moon
cradles a tiny star

***

sweeping
across the sky
indigo cloak of night
pinned
by the evening star

***

trees
of
crystal
tinkling
windchimes

***

sparkling
gems
a jewelled necklace
the frost rimmed
leaf

***

slowly
drifting
one by one
raindrops
down the edge of the leaf

***

my eyes closed
in my mind
I see a keyboard
an unseen hand
types a poem for me

***

ocean of my soul
you come to me
as I sleep
I swim
into depths of you

***

tossing and turning
in bed
I open the window for fresh air
even the moon
has gone round the corner

***

a winter's day
from my bed
I watch raindrops
racing each other
down the window

***

peacock butterfly
fluttering
in the palm of my hand
tickling sensations
long after it had flown

***

translucent
sunlit leaves
parchment thin
I look
at her arms

***

during the funeral
he slipped his hand in mine
holds it tight
he whispers to me
she was your mother too

***

in her dreams
Hansel-and-Gretel like
she left a trail
when morning came she tried to return
but the crumbs had all gone

***

fading
away
in her memory
daisies in a pot
sitting on the garden chair

***

enfolding
this dark night
a bright white star
carefully she folds with precision
her origami skills

***

dreaming a dream
I look around
in empty streets
weeds growing through pavement cracks
even I am not there

***

ghost things
at the edge of the mirror
just out of the corner of your sight
turn your head
there is nothing there

***
tectonic plates
a movement
within
a family
drifts apart

***

memory
the stockpiling of
life's events
this scrapyard of cars
teeters precariously

***

in the pupil
of the eye
a vortex of dark green
above the pine trees
a crescent moon

***

cluttered room..
old fashioned
yellowed light bulb
casts a light
of cares worn away

***

echoes of her soul
crying in the wind
her doll-like face
ice-blue eyes
not blinking
***

in my dream
I saw you outside a cafe
I walked up to you
an empty table
you had gone

***

he slept
on park benches
when he returned from the war
a plastic carrier bag of newspapers
for his blankets

***

wandering
the seashore at midnight
the moonchild
in her hands
white echoes of you

***
the terraced streets
I left behind as I walked home
each step
I took
time passed more more slowly

***

deeper and deeper
our steps in soft sand
my mother's face
grows
darker and darker

haiku, tanka and micropoetry ( feather poems) by gennepher

***

snow white angel
her wings fluttering gently
a feather falls

***

her
soft feathers
fluttering
she seems
so far away

***

clumsily
from the water
a swan takes flight
upstream
a feather floats serenely

***

a magpie
tries every window then enters
a few moments later emerges triumphant
he leaves a feather
his calling card

***

a feather falls, folds into the colours of your rainbow

***

falling
from the cloud
a white feather
I put it
in my pocket

***

a gentle fluttering of wings
the stone angel
a white feather floats down

***

as if in a fairy tale
the stones remembered
the child
white feathered
angel wings of innocence

***

a brown
wooden box
a parting gift he gave her
a single
white feather

***

her eyes
soft as memories
feathering nests of time

***

whispering

poems to her as she wrote
the white feathered quill

***

standing on the seashore
as I look out to sea
a wave comes in
a white feather
wet and bedraggled

***

the child
proudly clutched
an armful of peacock feathers
they guarded
her room at night

***

in the cemetery
by an old wooden cross
a fox sits
feathers flying
from the chicken in his mouth

***

a trail
of bloody feathers
on the path
from the hen house
the fox long gone

***

the child
proudly carried
the warm hen's brown egg
a white feather
still attached

***

her
soft feathers
fluttering
she seems
so far away

***

a feather falls
on the river bank
I look up
a kingfisher blue
flashes past

***

in the palm of her hand
she caught it
a falling fluttering feather

***

falling snow
falling
icy feathers

***

the child
saw fallen stars
in the water
two white feathers
an angel's wings

***

an anti clockwise sound
when you've gone
your feathers will flutter no more

***

he broke
her heart
by dying
in the band of his hat
a pheasant's feather

***

in the hallway
fanned out
in the umbrella stand
peacock
feathers

***

fairy tales
ivory moons
whispering
feathered dreams
of angels

***
